In a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, Milind Deora, Minister of State for Communications and IT said that 893 complaints were filed against Bharti Airtel for rejecting mobile number portability (MNP requests), followed by Vodafone Essar and Idea Cellular.

Vodafone Essar and Idea Cellular faced 792 and 313 complaints, respectively. Also, 307 complaints were filed against Reliance Communications, 149 against Tata Teleservices Limited and 134 complaints against Loop.

He added that as on November 30, 19 million mobile customers have successfully ported their mobile numbers to the service provider of their choice.
