Bharti Airtel has expanded its network by deploying more sites in the Solapur district of Maharashtra to reach more people and widen its network impact, under its Rural Enhancement Project.

Airtel has been working on the National Rural Enhancement Project that involves network expansion in 60,000 villages in the country by 2024. In Maharashtra, a key focus market, the company plans to expand its network to 5,000 villages. Along with expanding network capacity, the initiative also seeks to improve fibre presence in Maharashtra by reaching remote and underserved areas.

Bharti Airtel has undertaken the project in Solapur, covering 1,100 villages with a population of 2.7 million. The project benefited customers in the tehsils of Akkalkot, Barshi, Karmala, and other districts in Solapur, and other nine districts of Maharashtra, including Ahmednagar, Sambhaji Nagar, Bid, Jalgaon, Nashik, Solapur, Nanded, Jalna, and Buldana.
