Bharti Airtel has deployed additional spectrum in North East India and Gujarat.

The telco has deployed an additional 10MHz spectrum in the 2300MHz band along with network software tools such as pre-5G Massive MIMO, 4G Advanced, and Carrier Aggregation, in North East India.

According to the telco, it had acquired the 10MHz spectrum for North East during the spectrum auctions conducted in March 2021. With this fresh spectrum, Airtel has a spectrum holding of 70MHz in the North East, across 2300, 2100, 1800, and 900 bands, making the network ready for 5G services.

Meanwhile, Airtel deployed an additional 10MHz spectrum in the 2300MHz band in Gujarat along with network software and tools.

In the recent spectrum auction, Airtel had acquired the 10MHz spectrum for Gujarat. With this fresh spectrum, Airtel has 70.4MHz of diverse spectrum holdings across 2300, 1800, 900 bands. The company is well positioned to serve the growing demand for high-speed data services and its network is fully ready for 5G services, Airtel said.
