Bharti Airtel is continuing to expand its presence in Africa.
It is believed that the operator has introduced its operations in Rwanda. With this, Bharti Airtel is now present in 17 African countries.
The operator made its debut in Africa in 2010 after it acquired the African business of Kuwait-based Zain for $10.7 billion.
Meanwhile, it has already inked partnerships with various vendors to support its African operations. For example, the company has partnered with IBM to deploy and manage the information technology infrastructure and applications in Rwanda.
Similarly, Ericsson has been selected to manage the network from end-to-end solutions in the region.
Commenting on the launch, Manoj Kohli, CEO, International and joint managing director, Bharti Airtel said, “We are delighted to launch our operations and bring Airtel to the people of Rwanda. We believe that Rwanda is an extremely promising market and this launch further strengthens our footprint in eastern Africa.?
