Airtel has appointed Varun Singla as senior vice president (SVP) and chief information security officer (CISO).

In his new role, Singla will be leading the cyber security teams and reporting to Pradipt Kapoor, chief information officer (CIO). Singla will be responsible for driving next-generation cyber security initiatives and contributing to the ongoing innovation and business growth at Airtel.

As the CISO, Singla will contribute to the IT legacy and leverage his expertise in the areas such as IT security, risk management, network security, data protection, etc. Besides, he will drive cutting-edge cyber security initiatives and solutions while addressing industry trends, customer expectations, and business requirements.

Prior to joining Airtel, Singla served as vice president and chief security officer at the Micron Technology. He has about 18 years of experience in the cyber security domain. Singla has a successful track record of building sustainable and cost-effective security organisations that partner with business, IT, and engineering teams to solve enterprise risks.
