Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio Infocomm have signed a strategic agreement as part of which both the operators will share each other?s infrastructure.

Under the agreement, the operators will share assets including optical fibre, submarine cable networks, towers and internet broadband services etc. The tie-up is aimed at avoiding duplication of infrastructure, and to save capital expenditure. The sharing of infrastructure will also lead to reduction in redundancy ensuring seamless services delivery to subscribers.

Following the agreement, Bharti Airtel will be providing Reliance Jio Infocomm capacity on the former?s i2i submarine cable. Going forward, both the service providers could extend this partnership to roaming on 2G, 3G and 4G networks
