Bharti airtel and Idea Cellular have begun issuing demand notices to their competitors, requesting an SMS termination fee of Re 0.10 for every text message.
Prior to this, these GSM operators had mentioned they may impose the levy, but TRAI had stepped in and cautioned all operators against imposing discriminatory termination charge for SMSs.
