Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is going to introduce the next-generation network (NGN) in Meghalaya on April 30, 2015.
The internet-protocol based NGN network is expected to help operator provide enhanced broadband services in Meghalaya. Following the upgradation of its network, BSNL will continue to offer voice services to consumers at old tariffs, however, it will introduce new tariff structure for data led services.
Over the next few months, BSNL also plans to transform its existing telephone exchanges in the state of Mizoram and Tripura to NGN.
