Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is enhancing its product portfolio.

As per news reports, the operator has joined hands with Dimension Data to launch six Internet data centres in the country. With this, BSNL plans to offer a host of managed services such as co-location, hosting and cloud services.

These data centres will be built, operated and managed by Dimension Data and will be present in Mumbai, Faridabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Ludhiana and Ghaziabad.

The operator?s fist data centre, located in Faridabad, was inaugurated by Kapil Sibal, Minister of Communications and Information Technology. Commenting on the launch, he said, ?These internet data centres will enhance BSNL’s comprehensive service portfolio to meet the communications and IT needs of the large, medium and small enterprises in India. It will facilitate various organisations to quickly induct IT-enabled services within their organisations without the hassles of setting up and maintaining their own data centres.?
