Bharat 6G Alliance (B6GA) and the Telecommunications Standards Development Society, India (TSDSI) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly advance India’s 6G development agenda. The strategic partnership was formalised during the TSDSI tech deep dive (TTDD) 2025, on July 18, 2025.

The MoU outlines collaborative efforts to:

  • Address India’s priorities in 6G and future technologies,
  • Co-operate in the field of development of standards for 6G,
  • Regularly exchange information on activity roadmaps and workplans at global forums related to technologies as well as on technical activities carried out within each other’s organisations.

Commenting on the partnership, director general, TSDSI, said, “TSDSI is actively involved in nurturing the domestic standards development ecosystem so as to take a lead in the global 6G standards arena and achieve the goals of Bharat 6G vision. TSDSI is delighted to have entered into this partnership with B6GA and looks forward to mutual alignment and harmonisation of efforts in the respective areas of activities of TSDSI and B6GA, which will have a multiplier effect on research and development outcomes on the one hand and standard development and contributions to global standards on the other hand.”

Meanwhile, director general, Bharat 6G Alliance, said, “Through this collaboration, Bharat 6G Alliance and TSDSI commit to harmonising their activities in support of the government of India’s 6G vision. The partnership will strengthen India’s participation in global standards development processes and ensure that national priorities are effectively represented in shaping the 6G and future technology landscape. This partnership marks a significant step toward fostering synergy in India’s efforts to lead the development and deployment of future communication technologies. This MoU reflects our shared commitment to build a self-reliant, innovation-driven, and globally competitive telecommunications ecosystem.
