Belden Inc. has announced the inauguration of its Pune Plant 2. The new five-story facility adds 19,000 square meter (sqm) of advanced manufacturing space, complementing the existing 10,000 sqm. of Plant 1, which was inaugurated in 2018. This strategic US$40 million investment substantially enhances Belden’s capacity for critical products and solutions.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Dr Ashish Chand, president and chief executive officer (CEO), Belden, alongside the senior leadership team.
The key features and capabilities of the facility include:
- Integrated smart manufacturing: A seamlessly connected manufacturing environment designed for flexibility and efficiency.
- Immediate and scalable production: Agile operations that respond quickly to customer needs, with the capacity to scale efficiently as demand grows.
- Advanced automation and digital systems: Featuring modern automation, robust testing facilities, and integrated digital systems, making it a hub for high-quality, advanced manufacturing.
Further, the company achieved over 1 million safe working hours during construction. Other benefits of the facility are as follows:
