Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and Bengaluru-based Bellatrix Aerospace have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on the design, development and manufacturing of satellite systems and payloads.
Under the agreement, the two organisations will work together to strengthen India’s capabilities in satellite platforms designed for very low Earth orbit (VLEO) operations.
VLEO refers to the orbital band between 100 km and 450 km above the Earth’s surface. Satellites operating in this region can enable higher-resolution imaging, faster communications and improved atmospheric observation capabilities.
