The Department of Telecommunications has appointed A.K. Saxena and N.K. Joshi as interim directors for planning and operations respectively at Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL). BBNL is the executing agency for the BharatNet project, which is aimed at providing fibre-based broadband connectivity to the 250,000 gram panchayats in the country. The appointments were announced following the approval of the appointments committee of the cabinet. The two directors will hold their respective positions for three months.
