Basic and cellular service providers are opposing the government’s OneIndia plan. They have written to DoT expressing their reservations to the government’s intervention in tariff regulation.
According to the COAI, the OneIndia plan would result in local calls subsidising long distance calls. Also, bringing down long distance tariffs to the level of local call tariffs would make the operations totally unviable.
