Vodafone has announced that Balesh Sharma, currently head of the group’s Czech Republic subsidiary, will take over as chief operating officer (COO), India, from Naveen Chopra on April 1, 2017. Chopra’s next role in the company is yet to be announced. As part of the changes, Sandeep Kataria, currently commercial head, will report to Sharma. The company has, also, announced that it will integrate its commercial functions with operations, both of which will be under Sharma. Sharma has been chief executive officer (CEO) at Vodafone Czech Republic since 2013. He joined the company in 2011 and has been associated with Vodafone’s operations in Malta and India (Delhi and Bengaluru). He has earlier worked with BPL Mobile and Xerox.
