Avaya has appointed Alan Masarek as president and CEO, and a member of the company’s board of directors, effective August 1, 2022.
Masarek succeeds Jim Chirico, who will also resign as a member of Avaya’s board. However, he will remain employed with the company through August 16, 2022, and will work with Masarek to ensure a smooth transition for all stakeholders.
Prior to the new appointment, Masarek served as the CEO of Vonage Holdings Corporation, where he led the company’s transformation from a voice over internet protocol (VoIP)-based residential phone provider into a global enterprise cloud communications company. He has also worked as director, Chrome and Apps at Google, following Google’s acquisition of his prior company, Quickoffice, where he served as the co-founder and CEO.
