AT&T Global is planning to enter the cellular market in India by acquiring a wireless licence to operate in the country. It is also reportedly planning to bid for the yet-to-be-released 3G spectrum by DoT. AT&T exited the Indian mobile market in July 2005, when it sold its equity in Idea Cellular to the Tatas and the Aditya Birla Group.
