Ascendas Property Fund Trustee Pte. Limited, the trustee-manager of Ascendas India Trust (a-iTrust) plans to invest around Rs 12 billion to develop and operate the first phase of its data centre campuses in India. The campus will be developed on a prime site in India.
Located in one of the fastest-growing data centre hubs in Navi Mumbai, the Airoli campus will be among the largest in the area. The 6.6-acre site will be developed in phases into a fully-equipped data centre campus with a total built-up area of up to 575,000 square feet and 90 megawatts of power to accommodate global technology giants and cloud service providers, as well as large domestic enterprise customers.
The acquisition of the site from third-party vendors is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2021. There will be two buildings on the data centre campus. Phase one will consist of the first building, which is expected to be ready by Q2 2024. It will have a built-up area of 325,000 square feet.
