The state of Arunachal Pradesh is expected to get 4G services in 1,683 villages by December 2023. To this end, VL Kantha Rao, additional secretary, Ministry of Communication and Sunil Kumar Verma, deputy director general, Universal Service Obligation fund (USOF) held meeting with Bharti Airtel and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and took a tour to physically inspect and ensure that the projects taken up in the state were being implemented properly.

Meanwhile, the officials also informed that the funds collected from telecom service providers (TSPs) under USOF will be used to cater telecom services to remote villages.

Further, the officials also asked for support and cooperation from state government, para military and armed forces to implement the projects in identifying patch of land, movement of people, providing electricity connections in order to achieve the target of connecting all villages with 4G network by December 2023.
