Apple has begun producing its flagship iPhone 11 model at its Foxconn plant in Chennai.

According to industry sources, Apple plans to increase the production in a phased manner and the units from the Chennai plant could also be shipped to other markets.

Further, the company is also planning to assemble its new iPhone SE 2020 at its Wistron plant in Bengaluru.

The government is reportedly in talks with Pegatron, one of the top Apple’s manufacturing partners, to relocate some of its manufacturing units to India.

The company already manufactures Apple iPhone 6s, iPhone 7 and iPhone XR in India, wherein, it was procuring iPhone XR from Foxconn’s Tamil Nadu plant, while Wistron was assembling iPhone 7 in Bengaluru.
