Apple has opened the its first India retail store ‘Apple BKC’ in Mumbai. The event was inaugurated by the Apple chief executive officer (CEO) Tim Cook, where he proceeded to meet with the first customers and interacted with them at the store. The store is located in the Jio World Drive Mall.
Apple will open its second store in India at Delhi. Cook also met up with the Mukesh Ambani, chairman, Reliance Industries Limited, and N Chandrasekaran, chairman, Tata Sons, in Mumbai. Apple made strategic partnerships with Reliance Jio and Reliance Retail to sell its products in India. The Apple CEO is also expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
