
Apple?s App Store has clocked sales of over $10 billion in 2013, including sales over $1 billion in December 2013. In the month of December 2013, users downloaded about three billion applications.
Further, developers have earned about $15 billion for creating applications for the App Store. In 2013, developers including Evernote, Yahoo!, AirBnB, OpenTable, Tumblr, Pinterest and American Airlines etc created applications for the App Store. Developers redesigned in the user interface and introduced 200 new features and a large number of application programming interface.
Currently the App Store offers more than one million applications to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users across 155 countries. The APP store provides applications in 24 categories, including newspapers and magazines, games, business, news, sports, health and fitness and travel.
