Announcing its future plans, Tata Teleservices Limited recently outlined an investment budget of Rs 80 billion to be spent over the next two years to expand its telecom networks. Of this, the company will allocate Rs 60 billion to build a pan-Indian GSM network while it will spend the remaining Rs 20 billion to strengthen its existing CDMA networks. While the service provider has received spectrum in five circles and intends to introduce GSM services by March 2009, its plans may get delayed due to the slow pace of spectrum allocation in the remaining circles. The company also plans to launch BlackBerry services by the end of the year.
