Andhra Pradesh is reportedly set to build a cutting-edge Data City near Visakhapatnam, aiming to create two million jobs within five years. The initiative aims to mirror Hyderabad’s successful Hitec City model, incorporating data centres and artificial intelligence hubs.

The Data City, covering 500 acres, will be a hub for IT companies offering technological solutions. The government has begun acquiring land, with plans to allocate 80 acres to Google for a data centre, following a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh government. Meanwhile, Tata Consultancy Services will also secure 30 acres for expansion.

Andhra Pradesh is aiming to become a leading data centre hub, alongside Telangana and Maharashtra, by bolstering its digital infrastructure and attracting international players.
