Andhra Pradesh government has reportedly directed officials to prepare the groundwork for providing uninterrupted unlimited Internet connectivity to all the villages in the state.

Further, the state government is also considering increasing the Internet capacity to 20 GB if needed to provide Internet facility with unlimited capacity in villages. This would enable users to efficiently work from home.

To this end, officials have been instructed to prepare an action plan to provide Internet facility to 3.1 million houses in YSR Jagananna colonies that are being constructed. As part of this effort, underground cables will be laid in 108 cyclone-affected villages.

The plan is to provide Internet facility in all the villages by 2023.

In addition, Andhra Pradesh government is working towards setting up digital libraries in a time-bound manner in all villages.
