Amazon is partnering with Verizon Communications Inc for incorporating WaveLength technology into parts of its wireless network. Under the agreement, Amazon will extend its cloud to 5G networks with Verizon, enabling the developers to run latency-sensitive programs on mobile and connected devices.

Amazon is also working with other global partners, such as Vodafone, KDDI and SK Telecom.

Under the program, AWS Wavelength, Amazon Web Services is pushing its cloud into new territory.

At the company’s annual re:Invent conference it announced new infrastructure called Local Zones, debuting in Los Angeles, helping nearby users run speed-intensive applications.
