Amara Raja Energy and Mobility (ARE&M) announced that it has deployed 1 gigawatt-hour (GWh) of cumulative lithium energy storage across 50,000 telecom sites nationwide. The milestone has helped the company cement its position as a market leader in the telecom battery segment with a 35 per cent cumulative market share, the homegrown energy storage solutions and lithium-ion cell maker said in a statement.

It added that the 1 GWh of storage was deployed over four years across diverse conditions, enabling telecom infrastructure providers to transition mobile networks from diesel generators and lead-acid batteries to lithium-based storage systems.
