AM Group, an energy transition platform backed by the founders of Greenko Group, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Invest UP, government of Uttar Pradesh, to establish a 1 GW (gigawatt) high-performance compute hub to cater to global artificial intelligence (AI) workloads.

Under the agreement, AMG will develop an AI infrastructure hub in the Greater Noida region with a total investment of around $25 billion. The project will be implemented in phases, with the first tranche of capacity expected to come online in 2028 and the full 1 GW capacity targeted by 2030. The partnership highlights AM Group’s focus on building sustainable, carbon-neutral intelligent economy solutions and aligns with Uttar Pradesh’s ambition to emerge as a leading AI hub in India.

The project represents a multi-billion-dollar investment to create GW-scale infrastructure, involving around 500,000 advanced high-performance chipsets. It is among the largest investments announced in the country to date and is aligned with the government of India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision to accelerate the growth of AI-driven services.

Further, with India’s demand for high-performance computing (HPC) and AI workloads rising sharply, the facility will be designed to meet the needs of global hyperscalers, frontier research labs, enterprises, and India’s sovereign AI initiatives. Additionally, the hub will deliver large-scale capacity in a time-efficient manner, powered by carbon-free energy.
