Alphabet has leased an office tower in Bengaluru and secured options to occupy at least two additional buildings, as it looks to significantly expand its presence in India.
The company has signed a lease covering more than 656,000 square feet of office space at Alembic City. Alphabet has taken one tower on lease while holding options on two more, which together span around 2.4 million square feet.
If the company eventually occupies the entire space, the complex could accommodate up to 20,000 additional employees, potentially more than doubling Alphabet’s current workforce footprint in India.
