Alcatel-Lucent has been selected by Vietnamese telecom company CMC Telecom Infrastructure to deliver its gigabit passive optical network solution. This will enable the delivery of triple-play services, including high speed internet and high definition (HD) TV, to new residential developers and small and medium enterprises. Under the contract, Alcatel will deploy its 7342 intelligent services access manager fibre-to-the-user (ISAM FTTU) solution, along with its 5520 access management system, a next-generation element management system that covers the entire ISAM product portfolio encompassing DSL as well as fibre-based access.
