Alcatel-Lucent has been selected by systems integrator Hyundai Rotem, a subsidiary of the Hyundai Motor Group, to deploy a new mission-critical communications infrastructure for South Korea’s Light Rail Transit to connect the cities of Busan and Gimhae. According to the deal, Alcatel-Lucent’s optical and access network solution will be deployed in 18 stations along the 23.9 km Busan-Gimhae light rail route, as well as in the central communications control centre located in Gimhae.
The solution will connect Light Rail Transit’s station management systems as well as its train radio systems, ensuring reliable communications.
