Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise has launched new products that enhance its mobile campus solutions. The new portfolio that comprises access points, edge switches and network management capabilities create an optimised network infrastructure to accommodate the digital transformation of businesses. The new products are as follows:

  • Wi-Fi solution: Alcatel-Lucent has launched the OmniAccess Stellar wireless local area network (WLAN) family of products. Stellar access points use a controller-less architecture with distri­buted control intelligence providing more reliability, better scalability and reduced cost. It delivers a high quality user experience leveraging 802.11 ac Wave 2 technology for indoor and outdoor usage. It also includes integrated guest management and built-in deep packet inspection that can be leveraged for smart analytics and better support of internet of things (IoT) devices.
  • Stackable access switches: The OmniSwitch 6560 has multigigabit 2.5 Gbps access ports to enable high speed Wi-Fi and high power over Ethernet (PoE) ports to power IoT devices. Addi­ti­onal 10 Gbps uplink ports and 20G stacking ports offer the op­tion of meeting the growing demand in terms of network traffic.
  • Network management and smart analytics: The OmniVista 2500 network management system provides businesses smart monitoring and control for users, devices and applications. Using this, companies can create a simple and effective unified management resource and support better strategic decisions. OmniVista not only manages OmniAccess Stellar WLAN infrastructure but also offers a unified configuration and policy management for both LAN and WLAN. It avoids the duplication of tasks, keeps policies consistent on the entire network infrastructure and simplifies information technology operations. In addition, OmniVista provides application analytics dashboards that provide relevant information regarding network usage, ensuring the alignment of investments with business strategies.
