Alcatel-Lucent and Concurrent come together to launch joint video solution

Alcatel-Lucent and Concurrent have partnered to launch a new video solution that enables cable TV companies to significantly expand the number and variety of on-demand videos.

The new solution combines Alcatel-Lucent?s Velocix CDN technology and Concurrent?s MediaHawk Unified Origin and TV-VOD Edge servers which allows support cable multiple service operators (MSOs) to provide a TV everywhere experience to their customers.

Further, with this new solution, cable operators will be able to offer expanded video offerings to various devices preferred by customers. These devices could include TV set-top boxes, tablets, PCs or smartphones.
