Akash Tripathi, chief executive officer (CEO) of MyGov, has assumed additional charge as CEO of the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), effective October 9, 2023. Tripathi will succeed Amitesh Kumar Sinha, whose tenure ends on October 4, 2023. Sinha, an Indian Railway Accounts Service officer, was also in charge of the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for information technology (IT) hardware. He was also the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s nodal officer for social media content takedowns under Section 69 of the IT Act.

Further, as per the revised work distribution order, Sushil Patil, joint secretary will be in charge of the PLI scheme for  IT hardware with effect from October 9, 2023. Sanket S Bhondve, joint secretary, the Ministry of Electronics and IT will be the Designated Officer under Section 69 of the IT Act.

Currently, Akash Tripathi is in charge of monitoring website and social media activities, artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technology, the Human Centred Computing division, India AI, and the Digital India Bhashini Division.
