AIS to launch 3G services in Thailand through its subsidiary Advanced Wireless Network

Thailand-based mobile phone operator, AIS is planning to launch 3G services through its subsidiary Advanced Wireless Network.

Following the launch of 3G services in the country, the operator is looking at netting 8 million 3G subscribers by end-2013.

AIS’ 3G services will be launched in the 15 MHz spectrum band. The operator has earmarked about $2.1 billion towards the rollout of its 3G network between 2013 and 2015.
