Asia Pacific and Middle East hyperscale data centre provider AirTrunk has announced the acquisition of Lumina CloudInfra. The deal marks AirTrunk’s entry into one of the world’s fastest-growing digital and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure markets.
AirTrunk said the transaction will give it immediate access to Lumina’s development pipeline, existing contracts and relationships, and operating capabilities. This includes a planned capacity portfolio of approximately 600 megawatts, representing up to $5 billion of future development potential. The platform will continue to be supported by long-term capital from Blackstone and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB).
Lumina is a data centre platform in India with operations across three tier-1 markets, namely Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad. The business brings execution capability, a development pipeline, and a focus on AI-ready, energy-efficient infrastructure.
Following the acquisition, AirTrunk will scale to more than 3 gigawatts of operating and planned capacity across 20 campuses in six regions, covering Australia, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and India.
