As per Sunil Bharti Mittal, Bharti Airtel will continue with its annual investment target of Rs 200 billion despite the slowdown in the sector.
Sunit Mittal made the statement after a meeting with commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal.
In the meeting, Airtel discussed issues related to infrastructure sector including telecom, tower business, solar, and real estate. Further, Mittal has also sought the government’s support for faster clearances to streamline the group’s investment plans.
Mittal added that he had made a request for Rs 370 billion goods and services tax (GST) refund on behalf of the telecom industry.
Airtel would continue to pay 6 paise per minute for every outgoing call till December 31, 2020. These charges are proposed to become zero from January 1, 2021.
