As per Kotak Institutional Equities, Bharti Airtel’s substantial lead of 17 per cent over Reliance Jio in terms ofaverage revenue per user (ARPU) in the March 2020 quarter despite an inferior subscribers mix suggests that it has a higher market share in both the top-end postpaid and prepaid user segments than Reliance Jio.

Further, Kotak highlighted that the scenario also underlined that Airtel has an edge over both, Jio and Vodafone Idea in terms of network quality.

As per the firm, Airtel led Jio in terms of ARPU despite less than 50 per cent of its 283.7 million users being on 4G, unlike Jio with around 388 million users on 4G platform and 70 per cent with smartphones.
