Bharti Airtel has launched the 3.75 G HSPA+ platform in Rwanda, say news reports.
The technology supports internet speeds up to 21 Mbps. The operator had partnered with Ericsson to upgrade its existing network to the 3.75G network.
As part of the launch, Bharti Airtel is offering its 1GB of free data usage to customers until July 17, 2012.
The improved technology is expected to enhance multimedia functionality by offering high speed mobile broadband and internet access to users.
