Bharti Airtel has reportedly raised concerns over a significant increase in digital fraud cases across eastern Uttar Pradesh, where cybercriminals are using fake delivery links, phishing messages, and bogus banking alerts to target users. Cities such as Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, and Prayagraj have seen a sharp rise in such incidents, along with rural districts like Jaunpur, Kushinagar, Mau, Mirzapur, and Kanpur Dehat.

In response, Airtel stated that it has protected over 15 million users in the region within just 56 days through its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered fraud detection system, part of a nationwide rollout aimed at combating cyber threats.
