According to a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange, Bharti Airtel has elevated Shashwat Sharma to the post of chief operating officer (COO). Sharma takes over Sunil Taldar, who has moved to Airtel Africa as director, transformation.
Prior to this, Sharma served as Airtel’s head of marketing and consumer business as well as the chief executive officer (CEO), Airtel direct-to-home (DTH), the telco’s linear TV distribution business.
In addition, Amit Tripathi has taken over Sharma’s charge as director, marketing and customer experience. In his current role, Tripathi will be responsible for Sharma’s entire portfolio except the DTH business which has been given to Siddharth Sharma.
