As per a notice to stock exchanges, Bharti Airtel has stated that it does not plan to sell a stake in the company and no such proposal is under consideration.
The move comes after some media reports stated that Japan-based SoftBank was in preliminary talks with Bharti Airtel to pick up a stake in its telecom business and related assets either directly or indirectly.
Further, some reports also stated that Airtel had applied for government approval to increase its foreign direct investment to 100 per cent as promoter entities including its own overseas entities and Singtel were planning to infuse capital in the holding company, Bharti Telecom.
However, Airtel has refrained to comment on the issue.
