Bharti Airtel has acquired an additional 20.6 per cent stake in Lavelle Networks, a Bangalore-based software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) startup. With this, the telco’s total ownership will increase to 45.6 per cent in the company. The acquisition will be in multiple tranches.

In its stock filing, Airtel said that in furtherance to the earlier communication dated January 31, 2022 and in terms of Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Listing Regulations, the company has entered into an agreement resulting in the acquisition of aggregate 45.6 per cent stake in Lavelle Networks, in which it currently holds 25 per cent stake.

Airtel has made this acquisition under its Startup Accelerator Program for the support of early-stage Indian tech startups.
