Aircel has entered into an agreement with ZTE, under which the former will support the deployment of Aircel?s 4G long term evolution (LTE) network in the country.
In the first phase of 4G services rollout, ZTE will initiate LTE network deployment for Aircel in Chennai and the rest of Tamil Nadu circle.
Commenting on the partnership Anupam Vasudev, chief marketing officer, Aircel, says, ?Data is going to be the growth engine of the future and a cutting edge technology such as 4G LTE has the ability to empower consumers like never before. Our association with ZTE will help us in delivering ?next-generation? networks, critical to meet the growing demand for data services in the country.?
Xu Dejun, chief executive officer, ZTE India, says, ?The company is going to plan, design, supply and deploy state of the art LTE network for Aircel. In the initial phase of 4G services rollout, ZTE aims to offer users connectivity speed of over 65 Mbps.?
