Aircel is planning to raise a $1.5-$2 billion loan to finance its expansion plans in India. According to sources, the debt will be raised partially through external commercial borrowings and partially through rupee term loans. The funds will be used for the company’s expansion plans which include extending its coverage to the remaining 14 circles in the country from its current presence in nine telecom circles.
