Aircel plans to invest nearly $500 million in its 3G rollout and $500 million in 2G in 2011, according to Gurdeep Singh, chief operating officer.
The company plans to commercially launch its 3G services in two months after introducing a 3G experience zone in Chennai. The zone will help consumes get a first-hand experience of 3G mobile telephony. Commercial launch will begin from Chennai and Coimbatore.
