Aircel is carrying out trials for launching 4G service in the Andhra Pradesh circle before rolling out the service commercially across the circle. However, according to the company, one of the key challenges affecting the rollout of 4G services in the circle is the lack of an ecosystem comprising 4G-enabled handsets.
However, despite challenges, Aircel is upbeat about the uptake of data services amongst users since at present data services are witnessing an exponential growth in the Andhra Pradesh circle. About 44 per cent of Aircel?s total subscriber base uses data services and majority of them being 3G users.
Besides, Reliance Communications, Aircel is the only operator to have the licence to offer 4G services in the Andhra Pradesh circle.
