Aircel plans to introduce 3G services in the first quarter of next year and will invest $500 million for the same in the first year of launching the services.

For 2G and 3G services together, it will invest a little over $1 billion. Aircel hopes to finalise the equipment manufacturer by next week. Additionally, the operator hopes that 10 per cent of its new users will come from the 3G services.

Initially, the company plans to launch 3G in top 10 cities of each circle and then will cover the rest of the states in which they have received spectrum.
