According to the secretary, ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), India has far greater potential to raise productivity through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) compared to other countries.
Further, the secretary added that AI-driven job disruptions are expected to be lower in India as compared to the rest of the world, as white-collar roles constitute a relatively small share of the country’s total employment base at present.
