ACT Fibernet has entered into a partnership with the Greater Chennai Corporation to rollout free Wi-Fi zones in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

The initiative has been undertaken as a part of the government’s smart city project, which is being executed by the Greater Chennai Corporation. It aims to provide free Wi-Fi connectivity to citizens.

Under the partnership, over 25 Wi-Fi zones have been installed across prime locations in the city including 14 Amma canteens across 15 zones in Greater Chennai Corporation.

Around 250 to 300 users can access the Wi-Fi hotspots at a time through ACT’s network for 30 minutes at a speed of 20 Mbps using their login credentials.
